Para
Los Niños (PLN) is licensed by SPIN®USA
to bring the SPIN method to Los Angeles County.
PLN,
a child and family service agency, operates 18 sites in Los Angeles
and San Bernardino Counties with a $10.5 million budget. It serves
1,350 low-income and homeless children daily and 3,500 families
each year.
SPIN
trains the agency staff in the following programs: family preservation
training, educational leadership & teacher training, staff development
& management coaching. Through our train-the-trainer programs,
we are developing the agency’s training capacity to introduce
our various programs to southern California.
The
PLN leader of this initiative is Hector Ramirez, Vice President
of Programs, Para Los Niños.

Hector
Ramirez, Vice President of Programs, oversees the programmatic operations
of Para Los Niños. Prior to joining PLN, Ramirez worked for
various public and private social service agencies including Concept
7 Foster Family Agency, L.A. County Department of Children and Family
Services (DCFS), L.A. County Department of Social Services (DPSS),
and the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA).
Mr.
Ramirez is a member of various CWLA committees, including the International
Advisory Council, National Advisory Council on Child Care, and National
Advisory Council on Community Building. He is also a member of the
National Council of Latino Executives. Mr. Ramirez is a certified
Peer Evaluator for the Commission On Accreditation for Children
and Family Services (COA). In addition, he is a certified VIG Practitioner
for SPIN®USA.
Mr.
Ramirez is a recipient of the California Social Work Education Council’s
Public Child Welfare Award, and has been recognized for his work
in the community by various organizations such as the California
State Assembly, LAUSD Board of Education, Children’s NOW,
CWLA, and Los Angeles County Hispanic Managers Association. Mr.
Ramirez holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s
degree in social work from California State University, Long Beach.
